South Korea Insights – March 2025
The Department and Trade Tasmania hosted our Trade Representative for South Korea, Mr Jean Ough on a visit to Tasmania in March 2025. With demonstrated experience in Australian export management and a record of achievements in trade and investment facilitation with Korean companies, Mr Ough is very well placed to help Tasmanian businesses achieve greater success in exporting to South Korea.
South Korea remains a high priority for the Tasmanian Government as identified in the Tasmanian Trade Strategy 2019-2025 and it has become Tasmania’s second most important and valuable export market behind China. The country now accounts for 12% of goods exported from Tasmania and was worth more than $545 million in the 12 months to November 2024.
