Hong Kong and mainland China Trade and Investment Mission 2024
From the 4-8 November 2024, the Hon Jeremy Rockliff MP, Premier and Minister for Trade, led a trade and investment mission to Hong Kong and mainland China.
Hong Kong and China are identified in the Tasmanian Trade Strategy 2019 - 2025 as priority markets for broad trade and international engagement. China is Tasmania’s leading trading market, while Hong Kong is a top 12 partner.
This mission comprised of a full meeting program in Hong Kong, Fuzhou, and Shanghai, including support for 19 delegates from 12 businesses and industry associations as they seek to enter, re-engage, or expand their trading relationships with these important international markets.
The mission also incorporated the Fourth Joint Committee Meeting for Cooperation and Development between Tasmania and its sister state in China, Fujian Province.
The mission included broad trade and international relations engagement across six sectors:
- Government and international relations
- Investment
- Antarctic and Southern Ocean
- Food and beverage
- Global education
- Tourism, access and aviation.
