Japan and Korea Trade and Investment Mission 2025
The Department led a successful business mission to Japan and the Republic of Korea (Korea) from 1-5 September 2025, hosted by Tasmania’s trade advocates in-market. Eleven delegates from eight Tasmanian businesses and association took part, including:
- 7K Distillery
- Greenbanks Distilling Co
- Island Coast Spirits
- Freshline Tasmania
- NewTile Farms
- Phlow 3D
- UTAS - Space
- Wine Tasmania
This mission aimed to deepen trade relationships, explore new market opportunities, and foster partnerships in two of Tasmania’s priority international markets. Korea is identified in the Tasmanian Trade Strategy 2019 - 2025 as a key market for targeted engagement. Japan is identified as a priority market for broad engagement across all key sectors. Both countries rank among Tasmania’s top ten goods and export destinations.
The second stage of the Japan and Korea Trade and Investment Mission was held from 24-28 November 2025. The mission program comprised of a full meeting program in Seoul and Tokyo. The mission included broad trade and international relations engagement across the following sectors:
- Government and international relations
- Investment
- Antarctic
- Maritime and Defence
