Thailand and Malaysia Trade and Investment Mission 2025

From the 19-23 May 2025, the Honourable Jane Howlett MP, Minister for Primary Industries and Water, Hospitality and Small Business and Racing, led a trade and investment mission to Thailand and Malaysia as the Premier’s representative.

Thailand is identified in the Tasmanian Trade Strategy 2019 - 2025 as a key market for targeted engagement. Malaysia is identified as a priority market for broad engagement across all key sectors. Both countries rank among Tasmania’s top ten goods and export destinations.

This mission comprised of a full meeting program in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, including support for 10 delegates from 6 businesses as they seek to enter, re-engage, or expand their trading relationships with these important international markets.

The mission also incorporated the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) in Malaysia and Thaifex in Bangkok, Thailand.

The mission included broad trade and international relations engagement across three sectors:

• Investment
• Food and beverage
