Tasmania JackJumpers and Jewels High Performance Training Centre

The new home for the Tasmania JackJumpers and Tasmania Jewels provides our National Basketball League teams with a modern training facility that is the best of its kind in Australia.

Located in the Kingborough Sports Precinct, the 3,365 square metre facility features two courts (including a show court), a gymnasium, wet and dry recovery areas, medical and rehabilitation facilities, change rooms for both teams, kitchen and lounge facilities, administration and meeting facilities.

The centre has been designed to ensure it is accessible for community use, fostering inclusivity and local engagement with basketball, while having a dedicated facility also frees up community court capacity in other venues.

Building Tasmania led the planning and delivery of this project, working with the JackJumpers, Jewels, Kingborough Council and a range of delivery partners, including Fairbrother and ARTAS Architects.

The main works contract was awarded to Fairbrother and construction commenced in June 2025, and Practical Completion was successfully reached on 24 June 2026 ahead of the 2026-27 WNBL and NBL seasons commencing.

Project Update 30 July 2026

The JackJumpers and Jewels players, coaches and administration staff have transitioned into their new home from existing occupancies in the Hobart CBD and Kingborough Sports Centre.
