Tasmanian STEM Excellence Awards

Applications have now closed for the 2025 science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) Excellence Awards, celebrating Tasmanians who have excelled in their field.

Currently in their tenth year, the awards recognise Tasmanians leading the way in STEM and inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers.

In 2025, guidelines and application forms were available for the following award categories:

• The Premier’s Tasmanian STEM Researcher of the Year
• The Minster’s Tasmanian STEM Innovation of the Year
• The Tasmanian STEM Early Career Researcher of the Year
• The Tasmanian STEM Primary Teacher of the Year
• The Tasmanian STEM Secondary Teacher of the Year
• The Tasmanian STEM Communicator of the Year

The awards are supported by the Tasmanian Government, University of Tasmania, and Inspiring Australia.

Applications closed on 6:00 pm Thursday, 18 September 2025, with the winners to be announced during November.

Applications for the 2026 Tasmanian STEM Excellence Awards will open in August 2026.
