International partnerships

The Tasmanian Government maintains a range of vital relationships with trading partners, and the Trade and International Relations team are stewards of this engagement. This includes a long-term sister state relationship with China’s Fujian Province, a strategic cooperation agreement with Washington State in the USA, and memberships with Australian-based policy institutes and internationally oriented business councils.

Tasmania also maintains a ‘Concord of Amity and Friendship’ with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in the Republic of Korea, with tourism, education, cultural exchanges and renewable energy our main areas of engagement.
